US-based Colfax Corporation is a leading diversified technology company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). In the first quarter of 2019, Colfax Corporation acquired DJO as an inaugural investment in its new strategic growth platform in the medical technology area from an investor group for USD 3.15 billion.
DJO is a global provider of high-quality medical devices that delivers proven solutions for musculoskeletal health, joint reconstruction, vascular health, and pain management. DJO offers healthcare providers and patients a complete Orthopedic Continuum of Care, from performance and mobility to surgical intervention and postoperative rehabilitation.
Orthomed Medizintechnik GmbH is the longstanding exclusive distribution partner of DJO Global for Continues Passive Motion (CPM) devices in Austria. CPM devices are used during the first phase of rehabilitation following a soft tissue surgical procedure or trauma. In the course of the envisaged retirement of the current shareholders, DJO Global steps in as natural successor.
With the acquisition of Orthomed Medizintechnik GmbH, DJO Global gains a recognised team of experts. The team has comprehensive know-how in local health care processes and an excellent network including relevant institutions and individuals. While Orthomed Medizintechnik GmbH will benefit from knowledge transfer and synergy effects in the future, DJO Global will be able to further accelerate its growth and internationalisation.
Ebner Stolz provided comprehensive transaction support to Colfax Corporation via financial and tax due diligence as well as SPA support in cooperation with the international Nexia network.
