Ebner Stolz Sets Course for International Growth
On October 1, 2023, the firm will join RSM, the world’s leading audit and consulting network for medium-sized businesses. With revenues of more than USD 8 billion, the RSM network is one of the top six audit and consulting networks in the world. More than 57,000 employees are part of the network, spread across some 830 offices in 120 countries.
“We serve far and away the majority of internationally active medium-sized companies. Together with RSM, we will support our clients even better in the future, such as with uniform global standards. “I am delighted that Ebner Stolz is joining RSM. The Ebner Stolz team will be an invaluable asset to our global organization. Together we will achieve our ambitious goals. We are a great cultural fit, and both of us value long-term relationships with our clients and employees based on deep understanding and trust,” said Jean M. Stephens, CEO of the RSM Network.
The RSM network follows the principle of being active in each country with a member firm under the RSM brand. For this reason, Ebner Stolz will operate under the name ‘RSM Ebner Stolz’ upon joining. The ownership structure, partnership structure and freelance culture of the firm will remain unchanged.
Transactions, Regulatory Changes and Megatrends Drive Growth in All Business Areas
In fiscal year 2022, audit will contribute the largest share of revenue to the success of the firm, with EUR 137.8 million. Demand was particularly brisk for audit-related consulting services, internal auditing, transaction consulting and sustainability reporting.
With an increase in revenues of around EUR 17.2 million compared to the previous year, tax consulting reported the largest growth in absolute terms. There was particularly strong demand for advice on corporate transactions and restructuring as well as foreseeable regulatory changes.
More than 10% of total revenues were attributable to management consulting. Important focal points here were support for restructuring and reorganization in critical situations, as well as the implementation of transformation programs, complex M&A deals, strategic alliances and digital technology initiatives in finance and accounting.
The most dynamic growth in the past fiscal year was reported by Legal Consulting (+27.5%). In particular, the support of transactions in the healthcare industry and the areas of labor and employment law, litigation, reorganizations and legal compliance can be mentioned as drivers of growth. In addition, consulting in the areas of antitrust law and product safety and liability was expanded.
